About the Author
Kenneth R. White, PhD, APRN-BC, FACHE, FAAN, is the University of Virginia (UVA) Medical Center endowed professor of nursing and associate dean for strategic partnerships and innovation in the School of Nursing at UVA. He also holds joint appointments in the UVA Darden School of Business and McIntire School of Commerce. He has more than 40 years experience in healthcare organizations in clinical, administrative, governance, and consulting capacities. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing as well as a Fellow, former Regent, and former member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
J. Stephen Lindsey, MHA, FACHE,has been a principal with Ivy Ventures, LLC, since 2003 and focuses on growth opportunities and business development. Before joining Ivy Ventures, he served as the CEO of HCA Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia for many years and held the position of chairman of Manorhouse Retirement Centers. He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he taught executive skills and coordinated the residency program for a number of years. Before entering the healthcare field, he was an infantry officer in the US Army.
